AT&T launches 8.1 megapixel Sony Ericsson C905a Cyber-shot camera phone
Sony Ericsson and AT&T announced the availability of the C905a Cyber-shot for AT&T’s customers. The C905a a version of Sony Ericsson’s C905 that has been configured for AT&T’s 3G network, and it offers an 8.1 megapixel autofocus camera with a real Xenon flash, face detection, and GPS geo-tagging.
In addition to the built-in camera, the C905 features a bright QVGA resolution display and a Sony Memory STick Micro (M2) card slot for expanded storage (16GB maximum). Like most AT&T phones, the C905 supports a wide variety of AT&T applications, including the AT&T Navigator turn-by-turn navigation system. AT&T Mobile Banking, Mobile Email, and the MobiTV service are also available on the phone.
We’ve been playing around with the phone for a couple of weeks and have been quite pleased with its photo taking abilities. The camera is easy to use, fast, and takes nice photos in both good light and low light. Macro support is decent, even with the flash, and the active lens cover on the back of the phone is quite nicely done. You can check out the videos we’ve shot of the C905 (below and on the following page) to see what it looks like and how it works. We’ve also included a large gallery of sample photos shot with the C905 on the last page of this story.
The Sony Ericsson C905a Cyber-shot is available July 19 from AT&T for US$179.99, after rebates, when purchased with a new two-year agreement.
