Sprint announced that it will begin selling its first Android handset on Oct. 11, making it the second U.S. carrier to roll out a phone based on Google’s platform.

Sprint Announces Sept. 8 as HTC TouchPro 2 Launch Date

Today Sprint announced that the HTC TouchPro 2 will be available via telesales starting September 8.

The TouchPro 2 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and features a 3.6-inch WVGA touch display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and HTC’s TouchFLO 3D user interface. Other features include Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, 3.2 megapixel camera and microSD card support.

The TouchPro 2 will cost $350 after $100 mail-in rebate with new agreement.
