LG GC900-Web Browsing & GPS Navigation
The LG Viewty Smart comes with a pretty standard web browser built-in. The browser is disappointing in its features as well as performance. The page loading was slow, many elements on the page did not load correctly and the worse thing was that after opening a couple of heavy pages the phone runs out of system memory and then you have to close the browser down. Scrolling around the page was quite slow and the default font was ridiculously tiny, making it hard to read or click on something without zooming in. Overall the browser was pretty unimpressive in terms of performance and we expect a lot more from built-in browsers these days.
The Viewty Smart comes with built-in GPS. It also supports A-GPS, which means it would use cell tower triangulation to determine your approximate location before the GPS receiver gets a lock on to the satellites and shows your exact position. The phone comes with Google Maps software built-in, which is good for basic navigation and checking your current position, but it lacks voice navigation. There is no software available to show your current speed or exact location in co-ordinates, etc. as well. The only thing else you can do with the GPS is use it in the camera for geo-tagging.
