Nokia’s Maemo 6 will support Capacitive Touch Screen & Multi-touch
Perfecting Maemo 5 the same time, Nokia announced Friday the next generation smartphone platform, Maemo 6 some of the early features, the new system supports capacitive touch screen and multi-point touch, and support for gestures.should finally put the Linux-based OS on par with modern platforms like iPhone or webOS.
Compared to Maemo 5, Nokia claims Maemo 6 will treat the device screen as a window on the desktop, which it calls the canvas principle. Slides from the presentation reveal the desktop window contains widgets and controls and the device pans over it. Both portrait and landscape viewing modes will be supported, improving it compared to the normally landscape-only Maemo 5 and earlier.
2010 second quarter, Nokia will also provide a Qt for Maemo development framework, and a Beta version of the Maemo system, through the development package, this Linux-based portable system is very easy for the application on Symbian and WM transplant come. The final version is expected to Maemo 5 will be released in early 2010, the sixth edition of course, there will be more later.
