Samsung rogue frozeing issue

Verizon Glyde2 -Samsung Rogue Somebody who have just picked up a Verizon Glyde2 (samsung rogue) last week and am very pleased with it overall, dig out problem of the thing froze on me to the point where he had to take the battery out to reboot it.
here was the steps:
- he had a bunch of text messages, with auto erase inbox turned on
- got a message
- replied to the message
- while “sending message” was on screen, hit lock to lock the phone, which caused it to lock in the threaded messaging screen
- when the person replied to message, it got stuck on the “new text message from xxx” screen
