Motorola Cliq Quick Hands On Impressions

I got a brief chance to handle the Motorola Cliq Android phone—no pictures yet, unfortunately—and came away pleasantly surprised. The phone itself is about as tall as an iPhone, but it’s definitely thinner than most QWERTY sliders.

Compared to the G1 this thing is svelte, and the keyboard is aligned correctly with the screen so there’s no weird jarring going on when you’re typing. The addition of the D-Pad, like we noted in the live blog, is going to be fantastic for gaming/emulation gaming, and works like a D-Pad when navigating the phone as well. Very useful.

AT&T’s first Android handset, a touchscreen slider from HTC code-named “Lancaster” could face an indefinite delay orcanceld, according to a DigiTimes report today

T-Mobile Launches the Samsung Gravity 2 for $30

T-Mobile, the nation’s fourth-largest carrier, today launched the Samsung Gravity 2, a thinner, upgraded version of the Gravity from late last year.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based carrier said the new Gravity 2 has revamped navigation controls and features improvements such as 3G connectivity, A-GPS with TeleNav and a 2.0-megapixel camera.

It still retains a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, microSD card slot, a music player with MP3 and AAC support, stereo Bluetooth and email support.

The report from Strategy Analytics confirmed that the Nokia E75 produced good all round success yet some usability issues were noted such as photo capture, image to contact allocation and the silent settings of the device.
